Sloped Residential Roofing Contractors in North Vancouver
We’ve got you covered. Serving North Vancouver for nearly 20 years, the team at Heyes Roofing are your sloped-roofing contractors no matter what your home’s design: flat-roof, low-sloped, steep-sloped, and everything in between. In North Vancouver’s rainy climate, pitched roofs work best for sloughing off moisture, one of the great enemies of roof life. Sloped roofing installation tends to be less expensive than installing flat roofs and generally require less maintenance.
Heyes Roofing offers a number of materials for sloped roofing installation and sloped roofing replacement:
Especially popular on the West Coast for its natural look, cedar roofing is also a renewable resource, making it a great Earth-friendly choice. Choose between shakes, which are handmade for a coarser, more textured appearance, and shingles, machine-sawn for a smoother look.
So long-lasting that you’ll probably never have to re-roof your home, metal roofing was once considered appropriate only for low-slope (3:12) roofs. These days, they are increasingly popular for steep-sloped roof replacement and installation, as well, coming in a variety of types and configurations. Want a clean, minimal look? Go for metal panels, which can brighten your home in a variety of colors and styles. Metal roofing is very durable, long lasting and requires minimal maintenance. Metal roofing can bring you immediate savings as well, reducing your annual energy costs by as much as 40 percent.
Far and away the most popular roofing material, asphalt shingles are suitable for low-sloped and steep-sloped roofing installation and replacement. Asphalt shingles are now predominantly fiberglass laminated shingles, consisting of a fiberglass base, layered top and bottom with asphalt, then coated with algae-resistant mineral granules for color and texture. Longer-lasting and resistant to curling, fiberglass laminated shingles now dominate the roofing market.
Torch-on roofing is most commonly used for flat residential and commercial roofing, but works well for low-sloped roof replacement and installation as well. Torch-on roofs are flexible, waterproof, and fire resistant, and are generally considered a more attractive alternative to tar-and-gravel roofs.
Flat Residential Roofing Contractors
While flat roof installation and flat roof replacement can be very economical, flat roofs can be problematic in our wet climate. Weather, especially rain and snow, can cause flat roofs to deteriorate, and pooling can lead to leaks. Heyes Roofing, North Vancouver’s leading flat-roofing contractors, offers a variety of solutions to protect and add longevity to your flat residential roof.
Torch-on roofing is an increasingly popular choice for flat roof installation because of its superior qualities over tar-and-gravel roofing. In torch-on roofing, rubber sheets coated with modified bitumen are heated with a torch to adhere them to a base. Torch-on roofs expand and contract easily with changes in the weather and are waterproof as well as puncture resistant. Surface granules provide protection from ultraviolet rays, for a roof that will last 20 years or more. At Heyes Roofing, we’re certified Soprema™ applicators, providing one of the leading brands of modified bitumen roofing systems especially for flat and low-sloping roofs. Your search for flat-roofing contractors ends with us.
Tar and gravel
A popular, low-cost material for flat roofs in the past, tar and gravel roofing has largely been replaced by torch-on roofing. Tar and gravel roofs offer many challenges when it comes to flat-roof replacement and repair. Homes with tar-and-gravel roofs typically feature multiple layers of material accumulated over time, which can be very heavy. Also, walking on a tar-and-gravel roof to make repairs can punch holes in the layers, causing blistering.
Heyes Roofing does not offer tar and gravel for flat-roof replacement, and instead offers torch-on roofing and other superior roofing products that will stand up far longer in North Vancouver’s wet climate.
